Works great on eczema! Dec 04, 2010
By Tindi G. My 5 year old son developed eczema without any known cause. Took him to pediatrician and the allergist, both prescribed high-dose steroid topical oil. Used the steroid oil until I could find a non-steroid solution to his itching. The steroid oil worked well however it bleached his skin which is the least of my worries with the product. By chance my eye caught sight of florasone at my organic grocier's shelf. I've been using florasone for 2 months, 2-4 times a day. Florasone stops the itch as soon as its applied and the redness is nearly gone by morning. The active ingredient is Cardiospermum. You can grow this vine plant pretty much anywhere. I'm going to plant this vine in my yard!

helped poison ivy Jun 04, 2010
By Grace We have tried lots of different things to relieve the itching of poison ivy for our three young boys, and they say this helps the most. We have been using it for years on bug bites and other itchy rashes. Time to restock!

Disclaimer: Nothing in this review is intended to take the place of a doctor's medical advice. My remarks are stated as personal experience and are intended for consumer-education only.
I've used this skin cream for the past 12 years or so. It is a staple in my home first-aid kit. This product is a good alternative for people who are allergic to topical analgesics, who want to avoid long-term use of cortisone creams (which many doctors do not recommend), or simply prefer natural skin products, particularly homeopathic remedies. Florasone's primary, intended use is for skin itching and burning in any part of the body (other than inside the eyes, which is another issue entirely). It can serve as a substitute for over-the-counter (OTC) products such as Vagisil, Preparation H, and "-caine" type topical analgesics such as Lanacane, Aveeno Anti-Itch Cream, and Benadryl Itch Stopping Cream.
When an itch is really strong, as for an insect bite or a hemorrhoidal flare, it is possible to augment the abilities of this cream a great deal by adding in a dab of baking soda to the Florsone and mixing them well together. You can test the proportion to suit yourself, but a good basic ratio is 2:1 of Florasone to baking soda. Baking soda itself is wonderful for any kind of itch, with the exception of vaginal itching since it might upset the acid/alkaline balance of the mucosa if you use it there. Here's how it is done: Squeeze out some Florasone into your palm about the size of a pea. Put approximately 1/8 tsp. (an amount about 1/2 of the dab of Florasone) into your palm and mix the two together. Then apply this mixture to the affected area.
Another option for an added, natural boost to the Florsone for really harsh itching is bentonite clay. My favorite is from The Living Clay Company. Here again, a good basic ratio is 2:1 of Florasone to clay. Unlike baking soda, clay does not present the same issues for acid/alkaline balance for an extra-itch-protection vaginal cream.
Note: Be sure and wash your hands before and after applying this cream and squeeze out the cream onto the palm of a clean hand. (Much the same as is advised for cosmetics.) This will prevent contamination of the contents of the tube. In addition, women in particular need to be very careful not to allow any residue of this cream that has been applied to the anal area to get anywhere near the vaginal or urethral areas, because this could lead to E. coli-induced urinary-tract infection or vaginitis.
Finally, for those interested in trying internal homeopathic remedies, Cantharis is frequently indicated for any type of burning sensation in the body, such as from a skin condition, actual burns on the skin, or burning from a urinary tract infection. If one's itching is from poison ivy, a commonly helpful remedy is Rhus Tox, which is also often indicated for itching due to chicken pox or measles.
