After reading the reviews I decided to try the product to regulate my cycle. I didn't really want to get pregnant from this... but we did, sometime in the first 8 weeks. I only took 1 a day.
I've had trouble with my cycles since college (about 10 years ago), and 2 years ago took Cholmid in order to conceive. 2 months ago I had to take Provera again (it cleans out the lining but doesn't cause ovulation) because I hadn't had a period in 3 months and was spotting a lot. Then I was looking for something herbal to help regulate my period so I wouldn't have to take a drug every few months.
The Vitex seemed to regulate my hormones well. While I didn't get a full period the first month I was on it, just spotting, I am pregnant. We're not sure when in that 8 weeks it occurred, but something happened with this herb that helped my body to actually ovulate.

Hi, I had to share my testimony. I took vitex for less than 2 months to straighten out my hormones as my hubby and I tried to get pregnant. We had been trying for years, seeing specialists, the works with no luck. Anyway, after taking vitex for less than 2 months, I got pregnant. I'm sure Vitex had something to do with it and if you are also trying to get pregnant and can take this herb, I think it's worth a shot since it worked for me. Thanks, good luck and God bless ya!

I had serious problems with my period. It had become very frequent with much spotting. I was suffering! A friend of mine who works for a pharmacist in Germany suggested I try this herb. In Germany, herbs such as Vitex have been studied and used by the medical establishment extensively.
I started to take Vitex and within 2 months my period became regular and many of the negative side effects of PMS were eliminated.
I stopped taking it and after three months of not taking it my period started to get irregular again and some of the negative side effects of PMS started to return, so I am going right back on this stuff.
This stuff works. Germany is way ahead of America on the use of herbs and studies show that this is one herb that really does help!!

I think there is a misunderstanding regarding the purpose of Vitex; it doesn't regulate menstrual cycles in and of itself, but treats imbalanced hormone levels that can be the cause behind menstrual and fertility troubles. Its also works gradually, so you need to give it a few months for the full effects.
My personal experience with Vitex: after recurring early miscarriages, I narrowed down the cause to low progesterone and began taking Vitex to balance my estrogen and progesterone levels. I did take a higher dose than recommended by the manufacturer, but as a certified herbalist I felt comfortable adjusting my dosage within a safe range. Within 1 cycle, all of symptoms of low progesterone had cleared up, and I was also able to conceive and maintain a pregnancy even after I stopped taking Vitex; because it is a slow-acting herb, it continues to balance hormones until the placenta is able to take over and keep the hormones balanced during pregnancy.

Cured PMS but later wasn't as good Oct 02, 2010

This product is powerful. It will help you if your body needs whatever it does! It cured my PMS for many years and I was so grateful. After my second child though it seems to be making my PMS worse so I've stopped taking it.
UPDATE: Wow, I just found out at the health food store why this wasn't working for me the second time around! There are two types of Vitex. This one is the "fruit" and it doesn't work for women's issues. The second type is the "extract"- it should say what % of Agnuside is in it. THAT one is a miracle. There are tons of studies on it. It even healed the proliferation of uterine tissue in one study. So, voila! Hope it helps you. You can take it for as long as you want (unlike what some websites say).
